: I am on Synthroid and want to try some T3. Would it be best to add a T3 only drug to my synthroid or stop the Synthroid and go to a T4/T3 combo.
: My TSH is 1.49 on the Synthroid however I still have hypo symptoms. Or should i simply increase the synthroid?

Hi L,

I would recommend ( but I'm not Doctor or an expert) that you have your adrenals checked before trying to add snythetic T3. If you are having an adrenal problem the T3 won't work.
Have a look at this before if concidering Cytomel.... :You will find all the pecautions, interactions, and side affects listed there
Also a good idea to get a complete thyroid panel (esp. the Free T3 and Reverse T3) before trying anything with T3 in it.

It's hard to say who is going to be help by what medication or dose of that medication so I feel it's best to know everything about them before trying them. Make sure that you
arent' taking any other medication that could create serious side affects, know the side affects of the one that you are going to try, keep a journal like Nancy is doing so that when
something does arrise you can get a better idea of what might be causing it.

Your TSH looks good, but who's knows what level "you" are going to feel best at so you could try just a smigion more Snythroid for a while and see how it goes. Just be very aware of hyper or overmedication signs so that you can stop the moment you notice any.
Just be very careful! Best of Luck, Tina
