: : Hi:
: : I'm losing my hair, I have extreme intolerance to cold, constipation, low basal temperature (96.7 this morning), fatigue (can't drag myself out of bed in the morning), aching joints (hips and legs),my fingers turn white and numb when exposed to the cold, have put on 20 lbs that I'm having difficulty losing and I'm extremely depressed and stressed out due to the hair loss. I also break out in rashs around my neck as well as on my lips. I'm also 45 and could well be starting menopause. Has anyone else had symptoms like these that were due to hypothyroidism and/or hormonal imbalances due to menopause. I have a doctors appointment soon but I've been told many doctors refuse to believe there is anything wrong with your thyroid at this age. Any comments or words of encouragement would be appreciated. Thanks,
: : J.P.

: Hello , many of my symptoms sound just like yours. I have hashimoto's . About the rashes on your neck, I have this too- wondering whether it could be hives-white lumps and an area of red inflammation . Best wishes - and the best of health. Regards Jemma.

Hi, I have Hashimotos and have many of your symptoms as well...for the weight gain, the only thing I've found that works is Dr. Arvanel's Body-type diet...get the might be a thyroid-type and he says we must avoid caffeine and you consume much of those? If you hae Hashimotos I'd advise taking the thyroid medication he recommends..I tried to do alternatives on it and had no luck, just made matters worse...
