: : I have been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and small
: : nodules on the thyroid. I have been taking propylthracil 100MG for
: : the past three months, Now I have to drink radio active
: : Iodine. Can anyone tell me if they have done this and what
: : are the symptons if any? Any help would be much appreciated
: : I will check back here for some answers. Thank you

: Hi, I also have an overactive thyroid, but I was just told about two days ago. My grandfather
: told me that he knew a lady that had many problems with her thyroid and after she drank the
: iodine she was much better. I don't know any of the side effects to it, but I have heard good things
: about it. I hope you know and understand not just why they are going to do
: this, but also how. If not then write back and I will explain what I know about it. I may also
: have to do the iodine thing, so it would be nice to keep in touch with you. Good luck and let
: me know if I can help in any way. :) Holk

Thank you for your message Holk, Sorry it had taken so long
to get back to this board. Well I have had the radioactive Iodine treatment
and there was really nothing to it... taste just like water.
Just had to eat off paper plates etc. for a few days
and my husband was nice enough to do the cooking.. lol
I have had no side effects whatsoever, I will be having another
blood test done in a couple of weeks, so should know
more then, I did see the Dr. and he thinks that the nodules
are shrinking, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will
keep you posted. Also I'm now taking two pills instead of three
for the next two weeks, then 1/2 pill twice a day.. until I see the Dr.
again toward the end of Nov. Thanks for your message
and good luck with your thyroid.
