: : The actual treatment hasn't given me any real relief. The MD did not want to give me any pain meds...what is it around here? I can't find a Dr. who understands just how much discomfort I'm in here! The chirco recommended to try MSM 2/3xs a day and Bromaline 1/ 3xs a day. ( both available at health food store)I have to say that it has taken the edge off a little bit. But that's about it. Maybe with time it will help further. As soon as I can afford it I am making an appointment with a dentist for an NTI. But I have shelled out so much money lately on my mouth it will have to wait a while longer. I at least need new X-rays and I would like a CT scan or MRI but with no insurance it's only wishful thinking. For the moment I will continue with the MSM and Bromaline it's all I have and it does help take the edge off a little. GOod luck to you!

: hi dee, i am sorry the treatments haven't given you relief and only ignorance or incompetence would leave anyone in pain.find another md.
: it's really tough when you have no insurance, an mri of your tmj joints might make them realize the discomfort you are in.look through the phonebook for low-income medical help, there might be someone you can call.i have heard of MSM, but what is bromaline? it's a shame that us tmjd patients have to spend so much money on so many treatments and then get no relief, i can't tell you how many treatments i have tried and doctors i have seen. and money i have spent out of my own pocket.this is the money joint for sure!

: i know with me, i have both discs dislocated and chronic myofascial pain and soft tissue damage, i finally found an anti-depressant called effexor xr 75mg. that is helping my myofascial pain--everyone is different and i have talked to a person who it didn't help--like all meds they have side effects and can be dangerous-and never stopped abruptly-so always consult a md.i take 600mg of advil or motrin for inflamation of the tmjoints and vicodin(pain pills)down to 1/2 now and klonopin(anti-anxiety meds)still live on a soft diet, and i am not doing too bad, my quality of life has gotten better and i also have had the terrible ear pain. now it around a 2 on a scale of 1-10.this is my treatment, cause the surgery i would need alot--i would never even consider--too risky for me.
: thanks for responding, and i wish you some painfree days , dee. please keep us posted on how you are doing.
