I was talking w/ my sister today.. and she was telling me how she saw Tori Spelling the other day. She was going to a Tanning Salon. Anywyas, my sis said that tori's face was horrible, had pimples all over her cheek esp on her sides.

This was the first time i heard about celebrities' skin. I have met many actor/actresses, and when i saw them, they had nice smooth clear skin..

I don't care about her because she'll just pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have the skin scraped off an replace with some new fresh clear healthy skin. Just like the rest of her, I can't stand people who get plastic surgery just for the sake of getting plastic surgery. I can understand if you're born with some horrible defect like you have only one ear or your nose is horribly crooked and restricts your breathing some how. I know one can argue that really deformity is in your own head, because people can learn to deal with those type of things and live perfectly normal lives. Then again someone who is normal could also have such a low self esteem that they feel the need to use plastic surgery to feel normal. As you can see I have conflicting opinions, so I'll typing before everyone thinks I'm any crazier than I already am.

Hey I heard from somebody who saw Tori Spelling in person that she has really bad skin as well, and this was a few years ago, so I imagine she's been battling this for a while like most of us have. I also heard that Cameron Diaz has bad skin as well, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Cameron Diaz has bad skin, that aint a rumor!! It's very evident in some of her movies. Heck, you can even see it in some of her pics in People Magazine. I think for actors its very different compared to models and the like. For actors, its the total package. Their looks, their personality, their acting ability, and their atitude are what makes them a star.

I have seen older footage of Britney Spears and she had bad acne especially on her forehead and I have heard other people say this about her too.

I want to see JLo with bad skin!!!!

Really, though, in a way it is comforting they have bad skin. It makes them more human somehow.

Has anyone seen the proactiv infomercial with the former Ms. USA (can't remember her name) and the Victoria Secret model having a discussion about their acne problems?

I'm not really insulting someone because I've been insulted before and it is painful contrary to popular belief. Words can hurt you. I'm happy to see famouse people that are open about their past with acne, it makes me feel more human. It also helps other people steer away from those acne, pizzaface, pepperoni, etc stereotypes. Plus when I see them I don't feel like such a loser, I'm not as depressed because I've seen how they conquered it and it gives me some hope. Even though it diminishing rapidly, it good to know that the door hasn't fully slammed shut.

I don't think everyone is insulting these celebrities, I think it is just nice to know that even they have problems, and it makes me realize that if people who have Loads of money haven't come acrossed away to get rid of their acne then maybe their isn't some secret medicine they use that we haven't heard about...I mean, If I had as much money as some of these people do I always figured I would be in the best Dermotologist offices in the world everyday, but they do have the money and nothing is working for them.....Jackie Chan gets zits too........and he is very healthy...

I agree with Buble gum. Please people Tori Spelling or you name the celebrity are millionares. They can afford to pay new skin or any other body change they want. Like Michael Jackson who even came from being black to a white person. If they have an acne problem for sure they can afford to fix it. Have you seeing the program of life of rich and famous? Their cosmetics are specially made for them. Actors must have clear skin. I also dont see where is that you guys see the acne in this actors anyways, because i have seeing i have never seeing any with f*@! up skin! A little of tiny bumps is not called acne.

But where is that you guys see the acne in these people? I havent seeing any celebrity with acne. If I see anything that would be tiny bumps? Thats not acne. Acne is bumps full of pus and blemishes and scabs that cannt be covered up with any makeup all over face. Celebreties dont have skin like that, at least to my eyes they dont.

You know who really annoys me Kristin Kreuk aka. Lana Lang from Smallville. She does all these Neutragena commercials about acne washes and such. But look at her skin she has perfect skin, infact she doesn't even have to wear makeup because it's so good. If I want to buy acne meds, I don't want to see someone who has never had acne before promoting the item. It just makes me feel like crap and that I'm the only one who suffers.

No, those "bumps" called comedones ARE acne, and are medically classified as such. I have been suffering with the same comedones all over my face for three years now and nothing except for painful actual extraction gets rid of them.

Please, don't generalize acne and try to designate it as only one form. We ALL suffer, no matter if it's with millions of bumps or painful lesions.

Britney has been quoted as saying that Pro-Activ cleared up her skin. It did used to be very bad. I think it has a lot to do with the amount of makeup women celebrities wear, and their non-stop, on the go, stressful lifestyles.

I think many celebs have some zits but "bad" no way...when I hear bad I picture huge cystic acne covering someones face.

I have yet to find a teen or adult with 100% flawless skin. No makeup, no surgery, nothing.

We the public hardly ever get to see Hollywood types without tons of makeup and camera tricks. The only actor I know with visible acne scars is James Woods, and he is not a big star, just B list.

If you ever watch the movie "The Matrix" on a high definition TV system, you will be stunned at how bad some actors/actresses skin really is. I saw this movie on an incredible high-def home theater, and it's not easy to hide flaws when the detail level is so high. If the lead actress had a pimple, you could tell it was covered with makeup. If Keanu had a pimple, you knew it. And Lawrence Fishburne has tons of acne on his face and neck, and lots of scarring. But it doesn't matter, he is still one bad mofo.

I also so that Venessa Williams has bab acne. I didn't beleive it until I saw a glance of her on tv, and her face was oily with little bumps. Tons of people in the industry have bad skin, and for some reason, it makes us feel better, like we don't have to have clear skin to be admired. Even though we would like it, we don't need it to be admired.

I don't think that someone with clear skin deserves to be praised or be supreme over someone with zits. Babies and young kids don't have skincare routines and they have the best skin: they don't ask for it and they aren't taking care of it better than you are. And flawless, rare, adults with perfect skin are probably lucky and also aren't doing anything special to deserve being clear. It's their skin deciding.

One thing is for sure, the actors dont appear on screen all broken out with acne. So they do need skin that "appears clear" even if in reality it is not clear.

True some have perfect skin, but they also have wonderful make-up. And Make-up one television is thicker that everyday make up. Bumps are really not the problem for me, even though I get them, it's the scarring that sucks.

Marifrom, they have professional people do their makeup. They could cover up anything. I've had makeup where it covered me up but you still could see all the bumps. I know a neighbor of Britney Spears in NY where she owns a condo said she had really bad skin. I wonder how bad it was!

I think the point of all this is that each individual case is unique. There is not anything that works for everyone. Maybe these celebrities haven't been through the gamut of treatments like some of us have, nor have the time and discipline to follow through on them. Hereditary factors do play an important role, and sometimes you really do have to make the best use of what you're given, even if it isn't "perfect" by someone else's standards.

We also have to be sensitive to people with problems like ours and not try to use them to make ourselves feel better.

I take comfort that even the so-called "beautiful people" suffer from bad acne. Yes, it's mean to gloat over their skin problems, but when you've suffered from acne for as long as I have (40 years), you feel better when you hear about these attractive stars also suffering as well. It makes me feel better to know that even Hollywood's elite aren't immune from acne, although most would rather die than admit it.

When I hear about a certain celeb with an acne problem, it makes them more human to me. But I don't feel sorry for them because they have so many options (and money) to mask/improve their acne that aren't available to an ordinary person like myself.

The reason you may not see these celebs as having acne is because of lighting, make up, and photo retouching, in addition to the countless cosmetic procedures they can afford to get. Celebs are very, very careful about photos of themselves released to the media. That's why they hate paparazzi so much, as those guys try to photograph them at their worse.

Other celebs who suffer from bad acne: Richard Burton, Tommy Lee Jones, and Oksana Baiul.
