What ever you do don't let other people detirmine how you feel about yourself when it comes to your weight. If you feel like you are fine the way you are, than you are. When it comes to changes in your weight 3-5 pounds difference is normal. There are times when my weight can change that much from the beginnig of the day to the end of the day. You eat, you drink, you go to the bathroom, all these things will contribute to what your scale tells you. as far as portion size keeping it smaller is fine as long as you eat more often in the day. By doing so you will never give you metabolism a chance to slow down,so you actually burn more calories in the day.
Just be happy with the way you are and let the other people worry about themselves. Take care
